PVC waterstop tapes should be used on the water-contacting surfaces of concrete to prevent water from seeping into the joints. If pressurized groundwater is not a concern and it is desired to prevent the transfer of dynamic movements in the joint, then central type PVC waterstop tapes used in the center of the concrete cut can be used. If the structure is located in an earthquake zone or in an area where subsidence is highly anticipated, then a tape type that can absorb excessive stresses and withstand stresses in transverse directions should be selected.
Purpose of Use: Used in joints within structures to ensure watertightness against deformations that may occur due to horizontal and/or vertical movements caused by various reasons.
Material: The product is manufactured by extruding a mixture containing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin as the main polymer material, along with various catalysts, stabilizers, antioxidants, dyes, hardeners, and plasticizers, in a pressurized machine at appropriate temperature and pressure.
Applications: Dams, irrigation canals, water storage tanks, reservoirs, water treatment plants, swimming pools, docks, aqueduct tunnels, hydroelectric power plants, bridges, subway constructions, viaducts, retaining walls, slabs and foundations resting on the ground, all raft and curtain wall compositions below the groundwater level, industrial structures.
